    Phd : Genís Rabost Garcia

During my industrial doctorate at the MicroTech Lab of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, I worked on an innovative sweat-monitoring technology that evolved from a preliminary research concept into a fully launched commercial product. My work bridged fundamental research and real-world application, contributing to key advances in sensor development, microfluidic systems and wearable integration. This experience allowed me to collaborate closely with industry partners, navigate the full development cycle, and participate firsthand on how academic innovation can successfully translate into impactful market solutions. Throughout this journey, the MicroTech Lab and its members fully supported me (academically, professionally, and personally) providing the guidance and collaborative environment that made this achievement possible.

    Phd : Enric Perarnau Ollé

I completed an industrial PhD in air quality monitoring, focused on the development of an indoor air quality monitoring system for automotive applications. This experience combined fundamental research with close industry collaboration, making it a non-traditional PhD path.

I worked on real industrial projects from SEAT and the Volkswagen Group, where the technologies under investigation were tested and validated in operational environments. In parallel, I took part in European-funded research initiatives and served as project leader, gaining hands-on experience in research coordination and international collaboration. In my opinion, an industrial PhD is the perfect opportunity to investigate in science closer to real-world applications.
